Intel Teach to the Future

The Intel Teach to the Future Program is a worldwide project presented by the Intel Corporation with support from Microsoft Corporation.

Its purpose is to integrate technology into education. Over seven million teachers in more than 60 countries have received the Intel Teach Training.

Students use available technology to present their ideas and research to their class, and occasionally to classes in other communities.

I joined the Intel Teach to the Future Program in 2000, receiving the Master Teacher training at Texas A&M University's Center for Distance Learning Research in College Station.

Through a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation we have been able to increase the technology available to our class, including 3 additional computers, a networked color LaserJet 4550N Printer, an extra 17” computer monitor, a digital camera, and a 32” monitor/TV display.

This allows us to have a 4:1 student to computer ratio, as well as have a multimedia display the class can use for whole group instruction.
